Kyabje Trulshik Rinpoche was born in 1923 in Yardrok Taklung in central Tibet. He has been recognised since his early years as the reincarnation of the tertönDongak Lingpa, and is also considered as the reincarnation of other great Masters from Tibet and India. Rinpoche studied with the greatest Masters of his time and received a completely traditional education.

When Tibet was invaded, Kyabje Trulshik Rinpoche took refuge with his disciples in a remote location to the south of Mount Everest, a mountain retreat to which no road passable by vehicles leads even today. He spent many years there on retreat and founded a monastery, Thubten Chöling, where numerous disciples study and practice, including monks, nuns and lay practitioners.

Kyabje Rinpoche was a very close disciple of both Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche and Kyabje Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche. He held all the latter’s teachings, whose reincarnation he found and enthroned. During recent years, Kyabje Trulshik Rinpoche transmitted numerous rare teachings to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, particularly those of the lineage of the Great Perfection. Rinpoche passed away recently.
