The spiritual teacher has a key role in Tibetan Buddhism. He is an instructor, a friend and spiritual father. He is also an experienced guide who knows the way and can advise and support us. But more than anything, his presence is a constant inspiration and example and the living proof that Buddhahood is possible.
Throughout my life I had the great opportunity to receive teachings and initiations from forty teachers from various traditions of Tibetan Buddhism. Some encounters were brief, others more lasting but, actually, their importance doesn’t measure by the duration.
Regardless of the official hierarchy, here are those whose presence, blessings and teachings have influenced me the most, to whom I feel closest to and most grateful.
